Las Vegas sports: game days, big events, and where to watch

Las Vegas has quietly become one of the great sports trip cities in America. The Raiders play at Allegiant Stadium just off the Strip, the Golden Knights pack T-Mobile Arena on the Strip itself, the UFC treats the city as its home base, and December belongs to the National Finals Rodeo. Add the F1 Grand Prix, two NASCAR weekends, March Madness watch culture, and a college football national championship arriving in January 2027, and there is a sports reason to visit in almost every month of the year.

This hub is the visitor layer for all of it: not scores or standings, but the planning questions that actually decide a trip. Where do I park? What can I carry into the stadium? Which hotel keeps game day simple? Where do I watch if I do not have a ticket? Our F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix coverage proved how much visitors need this kind of guide, so we are building the same treatment for the rest of the Las Vegas sports calendar. Prices last checked: October 24, 2026.

Las Vegas Teams: the home teams, one by one

Every major league now touches this city: an NFL team of its own, an NHL champion, a WNBA dynasty, all 30 NBA teams every July, and an MLB club under construction on the Strip. These are our team and venue guides, written for visitors rather than season-ticket holders.

  • Las Vegas Raiders fan guide (NFL): game day at Allegiant Stadium for home fans and visiting fans alike: the remaining 2026 home schedule, tailgating rules in the official lots, official tickets, and where to stay on the south Strip.
  • Vegas Golden Knights guide (NHL): a night at The Fortress: The Park and Toshiba Plaza pregame, the sword and the anthem, official tickets, and the closest hotels to T-Mobile Arena.
  • T-Mobile Arena guide: the venue itself, for hockey, fights, basketball, and concerts: seating logic by event, how to get there on foot, parking, and the bag policy that catches visitors out.
  • Las Vegas Aces guide (WNBA): the three-time champions at Michelob ULTRA Arena inside Mandalay Bay, the sellout streak that means buying early, and game day at The House.
  • NBA Summer League guide (NBA): all 30 teams at UNLV every July, the general admission day pass that covers both gyms, and why fans build a summer trip around it.
  • Athletics in Las Vegas (MLB): what is future and what is now: the Strip ballpark planned for 2028, the interim seasons in Sacramento, and the Triple-A Las Vegas Aviators you can watch in Summerlin today.

The next 90 days: the biggest sports window of the year

The stretch from late November to late January is the densest run of sports events on the Las Vegas calendar, and it is where most of our guides point right now:

  • Nov 19-21: F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix. Road closures, viewing zones, and race-week hotels are covered in our F1 hub.
  • Dec 3-12: The National Finals Rodeo fills the Thomas & Mack Center for 10 straight nights, with Cowboy Christmas and viewing parties across the city. Start with the NFR 2026 guide.
  • Dec 12: UFC 335 at T-Mobile Arena lands on the same night as the NFR final, the biggest single sports night of December. See how to attend a UFC event.
  • Dec 13, 20 and 27: Three straight Raiders home Sundays at Allegiant Stadium close out the regular season. The Allegiant game day guide covers parking, bags, and the walk from the Strip.
  • Dec 31: The Las Vegas Bowl kicks off at 12:45 PM at Allegiant, hours before the New Year's Eve fireworks.
  • Jan 25, 2027: The College Football Playoff National Championship plays in Las Vegas for the first time. Our CFP championship guide tracks what is confirmed and when the teams are known.

Why sports weekends are a hotel story

Every event above moves hotel demand, which is why a sports calendar belongs in a travel guide. March is the clearest example: LVCVA figures for a recent March packed with tournaments and race events showed citywide occupancy above 88 percent, weekend occupancy of 94.5 percent, and a record average daily room rate above $213. Game weekends at Allegiant and fight weekends at T-Mobile create smaller versions of the same effect. The practical takeaway is simple: pick your event, then book the hotel that makes the venue easy, using the hotel notes inside each guide.

On the horizon

  • March Madness in Las Vegas: five conference tournaments in early March 2027, then the NCAA opening weekend, March 18-21. Vegas sells the watching: our venue guide to where to watch sports in Las Vegas is the starting point, and a dedicated March Madness guide lands in January.
  • Rugby League Las Vegas, Feb 27, 2027: an NRL triple-header at Allegiant Stadium with a large traveling Australian fan base. The Allegiant guide covers the stadium logistics.
  • NASCAR at Las Vegas Motor Speedway: the Pennzoil 400 runs March 19-21, 2027 and the South Point 400 on October 8-10, 2027. The story is logistics: the track sits about 15 miles from the Strip, so shuttles and camping decide the trip.
  • Super Bowl LXIII, 2029: the big game itself comes to Allegiant Stadium in 2029. Until then, Las Vegas remains the country's default Super Bowl watching trip each February.
