Allegiant Stadium game day guide: parking, bag policy, and the Strip walk

By the ThingsVegas Editorial Team | Published October 24, 2026

Allegiant Stadium sits at 3333 Al Davis Way, just west of Interstate 15 and within sight of the south end of the Strip. It holds 65,000 fans for Raiders games, and it hosts far more than football: UNLV games, major concerts, the Las Vegas Bowl, and the College Football Playoff National Championship on January 25, 2027. For visitors, the stadium is wonderfully close to the Strip and mildly chaotic to reach, because it was built for walking fans, not for cars. This guide covers the decisions that matter: how to get there, what parking really costs, what you can carry in, and where to stay. Part of our Las Vegas sports guide.

Remaining 2026 Raiders home games

Getting there: walk first, drive last

The Hacienda Bridge walk (best option for most visitors)

On event days, Hacienda Avenue closes to cars and becomes a pedestrian route from the Strip straight to the stadium. From Mandalay Bay, the walk takes about 15 to 25 minutes, crossing over Interstate 15 on the bridge alongside thousands of other fans. It avoids every traffic jam, drops you right at the stadium, and the walk back after the game is usually faster than any vehicle. If your hotel is at Mandalay Bay, Luxor, or Excalibur, this is your plan.

Bus and monorail combinations

The RTC Deuce bus runs the length of the Strip for $8 for a 24-hour pass and stops near Mandalay Bay, a bridge walk away from the stadium. The Las Vegas Monorail covers the east side of the Strip down to MGM Grand; from there you can connect across to the south Strip resorts and walk. Both beat driving on game day, but expect crowds and slower service after the final whistle.

Rideshare and taxis

Rideshare works well before the game and poorly after it. Designated pickup zones sit away from the stadium, surge pricing kicks in at the final whistle, and the walk to your car can take as long as the walk back to the Strip. If you rideshare, leave before the last minutes of the game or settle in somewhere nearby for an hour afterward.

Driving and parking

Here is the core problem: the stadium has only about 12,000 on-site parking spaces for 65,000 seats. Parking passes are sold in advance and the closest lots go first. Expect about $40 to $60 for the closest official lots and about $20 to $35 for third-party lots farther out, then a walk. If you drive, buy the pass when you buy your ticket, arrive early, and accept that post-game traffic around the stadium is slow.

Bag policy and stadium rules to know before you go

  • Clear bag rule: bags must be clear and no larger than 12 x 6 x 12 inches. The alternative is a small clutch of about 4.5 x 6.5 inches. Backpacks and regular purses are turned away.
  • Cashless: Allegiant Stadium does not take cash. Bring a card or mobile payment.
  • Mobile-only tickets: screenshots can fail at the gate. Load your ticket into your phone wallet before you leave the hotel, while you still have your room's Wi-Fi.
  • Bag check: if you arrive with a non-compliant bag, paid bag check areas operate near the stadium, but lines cost you the first quarter. Travel light instead.

Pregame reality: there is no tailgate scene

Visitors arriving from college football or older NFL stadiums expect a sea of tailgates. Allegiant is different: the parking footprint is small, and the pregame scene lives in the south Strip resorts instead. Fans gather at Mandalay Bay and Luxor bars and restaurants, then make the bridge walk together. Treat the walk itself as part of the event: it is festive, social, and one of the best people-watching walks in American sports.

Where to stay for Allegiant Stadium

The south end of the Strip is your base. These are the stays that keep game day simple:

Stadium tours: the non-game-day way in

Allegiant runs guided tours on most non-event days, taking you onto the field level, through the locker rooms, and up to the Al Davis memorial torch. It is one of the best behind-the-scenes stadium tours in the NFL and an easy sell for a free afternoon. Tour schedules are posted weekly, and strollers are not permitted on tours. Book Allegiant Stadium tours and Raiders game tickets on Viator (tours were listed from $72 when we checked).

More than the Raiders: everything else this guide serves

The same parking, bag, and walking advice applies to every event at Allegiant. Two are coming up fast. The Las Vegas Bowl plays here on December 31, 2026, an afternoon kickoff before the New Year's Eve fireworks. And on January 25, 2027, the stadium hosts the College Football Playoff National Championship, the first title game in Las Vegas history. Rugby League Las Vegas follows on February 27, 2027, and major concerts fill the calendar between football dates.

If your game sells out or you skip the stadium entirely, our guide to where to watch sports in Las Vegas covers the giant-screen venues where half the city watches instead.
