Las Vegas Raiders fan guide: game day at Allegiant Stadium

By the ThingsVegas Editorial Team | Published October 24, 2026

The Raiders have played in Las Vegas since 2020, and the fit turned out to be natural: a fan base famous for traveling now has the easiest road trip in the NFL, a 65,000-seat dome nicknamed the Death Star sitting a short walk from the Las Vegas Strip. Every home Sunday mixes silver and black diehards with thousands of visiting fans who built a Vegas weekend around their own team's away game. This guide is the fan layer of a Raiders trip: tickets, tailgating, the pregame scene, and where to stay. For parking prices, the bag policy, and the full walk-through of getting there, start with our Allegiant Stadium game day guide. Part of our Las Vegas sports guide.

Tickets: how official Raiders tickets work

Start with the official channels: the team site at raiders.com and the stadium site at allegiantstadium.com, which route you to the official ticket seller. A few things every fan should know before buying:

  • Tickets are mobile-only. Load yours into your phone wallet at the hotel, on good Wi-Fi, not at the gate.
  • Division games move first. Chargers, Broncos, and Chiefs dates, plus holiday weekends, are the hardest tickets of the season. Buy those early.
  • Visiting fans are part of the furniture here. Allegiant regularly hosts large away sections, especially for California teams. Wearing your colors is normal, expected, and part of the fun.
  • Every seat is indoors. Allegiant is a climate-controlled dome, so a December night game and a September afternoon are equally comfortable once you are inside.

Tailgating: yes, it exists, and it has rules

Our stadium guide makes the honest point that Allegiant was built for walking fans, not cars, so the tailgate scene is smaller than at classic NFL stadiums. But it does exist, and for the fans who do it, it is serious. Officially, tailgating is permitted in eight designated lots (A, B, C, E, F, G, H and J) covering about 6,000 spaces:

  • Lot J is the heartbeat. The southwest lot has become the home of the big organized setups: grills, flags, canopies, and fans who followed this team from Oakland.
  • Lots open four hours before kickoff. Groups that want adjoining spaces must arrive and enter together, because attendants fill the next available stall and will not let you save spots.
  • Keep it behind your vehicle. Your whole setup (grill, tables, chairs) must fit between the back of your vehicle and the red painted emergency line. Nothing spills into lanes or walkways.
  • Canopies must be weighted down. Desert wind is real, and staff can ask you to take an unsecured canopy down.
  • Pack up at kickoff. Tailgating ends when the game starts, and the lots are cleared one hour after the final whistle.
  • No car, no problem. The team's official pregame fan zone in Lot N has run in recent seasons with live entertainment, games, and food trucks, and entry has not required a game ticket. Confirm it is operating for your matchup before building your morning around it.

Parking passes are sold in advance and the stadium is cashless. Our Allegiant game day guide has the current lot prices and the third-party options farther out.

The other pregame: the south Strip

Most visiting fans skip the lots entirely and pregame the Vegas way. The bars and restaurants at Mandalay Bay and Luxor fill with fans from late morning, and then everyone makes the Hacienda Bridge walk together when Hacienda Avenue closes to cars. It is festive, social, and genuinely one of the great entrances in American sports: a river of jerseys crossing over Interstate 15 with the Strip behind you. If you are a visiting fan, this walk is also where you will meet the home crowd at its friendliest.

Where to stay: home fans and visiting fans alike

Everyone ends up in the same place, the south end of the Strip, because it keeps game day to a walk instead of a traffic problem:

No ticket? Watch with everyone else

Raiders Sundays are a citywide event, and the giant-screen viewing venues fill with both fan bases. Our guide to where to watch sports in Las Vegas covers the rooms where half the city watches instead. And if you are in town on a non-game day, the stadium itself is worth the trip: guided tours cover the field, the locker rooms, and the Al Davis memorial torch. Frequently Asked Questions

Is tailgating allowed at Allegiant Stadium?

Yes, in eight designated lots: A, B, C, E, F, G, H and J, with about 6,000 tailgating spaces. Lots open four hours before kickoff, your setup must stay behind your vehicle inside the red emergency line, and everything must be packed up when the game starts.

How do I buy official Las Vegas Raiders tickets?

Start with the team site at raiders.com and the stadium site at allegiantstadium.com, which route to the official ticket seller. Tickets are mobile-only, so load them into your phone wallet before game day. Division games and holiday weekends sell fastest.

Where do visiting fans stay for Raiders games?

The south end of the Strip. Mandalay Bay is the closest resort and the start of the Hacienda Bridge walk, with Luxor and Excalibur a few minutes north and New York-New York and Park MGM a short ride away. Visiting colors are everywhere at Allegiant, so away fans are part of the scene.

When do the Allegiant Stadium lots open on game day?

Parking lots open four hours before kickoff. Groups that want to park together must arrive together, because attendants fill the next open stall and do not hold spaces. Lots are cleared one hour after the final whistle.

Can Raiders fans tour Allegiant Stadium on non-game days?

Yes. Guided tours run on most non-event days and cover the field, locker rooms, and the Al Davis memorial torch. Tour dates are posted weekly and tickets are sold through the stadium and partners such as Viator.
