The AVN Adult Entertainment Expo is one of the largest fan conventions on the Las Vegas calendar, and the AVN Awards that close it are the industry's biggest night. This guide is the logistics: dates, hours, tickets, the rules that surprise first timers, where to stay and what the week does to hotel prices. Dates and venue

Expo: Wednesday January 20 to Saturday January 23, 2027, at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, 4455 Paradise Road, about a mile east of the Strip at Paradise and Harmon. Hours: Wednesday to Friday, VIP entry at 12:00 PM, general entry 1:00 PM, close 8:00 PM; Saturday, VIP 11:00 AM, general 12:00 PM, close 4:00 PM (the short Saturday is deliberate: the building resets for the Awards). AVN Awards: Saturday January 23, 2027, 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM, at The Theater at Virgin Hotels, with the official after party at SkyBox from 11:00 PM. The crowd

AVN publishes an attendance figure of over 45,000 across the week (its breakdown counts 30,000 plus fans, 15,000 plus industry attendees, 5,000 plus performers and creators, and 1,500 plus media outlets; organizer figures, not audited counts). Independent coverage of the January 2026 edition landed at the same estimate. Practically: the Virgin Hotels casino floor, restaurants and rideshare loop run at convention capacity from Wednesday on, and the Saturday awards crowd arrives in full evening dress from about 6:00 PM.

Hotel price impact

AVN week is not a normal January week. It overlaps the January Collision, when World of Concrete and SHOT Show bring roughly 100,000 more convention visitors to the same part of town, so the east corridor and mid Strip price like a top tier week. AVN runs an official discounted room block at Virgin Hotels itself (booked through avnshow.com); that is the rate to beat and the zero logistics option. If the block is gone or you want the Strip, mid Strip is about a mile west: Flamingo on Expedia is the budget anchor, and expect rideshares to surge at expo close each night. Now. As of this writing (late October 2026) the expo is inside 90 days, the room block is the first thing to go, and awards seating tiers sell from the top down. Tickets first, room second, flights third; the flight Price Calendar rates that week as extreme pressure because of the Collision overlap.

The rules that surprise first timers

Both the expo and the awards are 18 and over (not 21), and ID is checked. Security searches every entrant. The bag rule is the strictest of any Las Vegas convention: no backpacks, no oversized bags, and bags must be A5 size (5.83 by 8.27 inches) or smaller, so plan on a small clutch or clear pouch, not a day bag. Professional camera equipment is not allowed inside; phone photos follow the event's posted policy and the performers' posted signs at each booth. Bring the printed e-ticket or order confirmation as backup; cell signal inside a 45,000 person expo is not your friend.

Getting there

Virgin Hotels sits at Paradise Road and Harmon Avenue, walkable from the east Strip (about 15 to 20 minutes from the Flamingo corner) and a short rideshare from anywhere center Strip.
