What to Pack for EDC Las Vegas 2027: Essentials That Actually Pass Security

This one is written from Insomniac's official EDC Las Vegas rules, checked on October 26, 2026 against the festival's published allowed and prohibited lists, because the Speedway gate runs a TSA style search, there is no re-entry, and the wrong sunscreen can ends the conversation before your night starts. The rules that decide your packing list

• Bags: clear bags up to 12 x 6 x 12 in; small clutches up to 6 x 9 in; hydration packs with a maximum of two main compartments plus one smaller one, empty on entry. No regular backpacks.
• Water: free filtered water refill stations throughout the grounds (2027: Free Water Stations presented by Electrolit, with free Electrolit sticks sampled on site). Reusable bottles allowed, empty on entry; glass is banned venue wide.
• Allowed and encouraged: glowsticks, LED costumes and jewelry, LED poi, orbitals and hoops, totems up to 10 ft on poles of 1 in diameter or less, non professional cameras and action cams under 6 in, personal misting fans with a bottle of 1.5L or less (empty on entry), sealed intranasal naloxone, prescribed medication with prescription and a safety officer consult.
• Banned (the short version): aerosols of any kind including spray sunscreen, glass, cans, outside food and drink including candy, over the counter medication, gas masks, laser pointers, massage guns, red light up wands and batons, markers and spray paint, professional cameras with detachable lenses, drones, chairs, blankets and tents.

Hydration: the pack that fits the rule

SoJourner Rave Hydration Pack (2L bladder included): picked because its listing states exactly two main zippered compartments, which is the EDC hydration pack ceiling, plus the bladder sleeve. Fill it free at the refill stations all night. Hearing: you have three nights of this

Cooling: fans the gate allows

A personal misting fan is explicitly allowed if its bottle is 1.5L or smaller and empty on entry; the handheld misting fans sold for festivals run about 30 ml, roughly two percent of the cap. Do not buy these for EDC (they fail the gate)

• LED light up gas masks: gas masks are banned, lights or not.
• Spray or aerosol sunscreen: aerosols are banned; the lotion version of the same bottle is fine.
• Mini massage guns: banned outright, whatever the listing calls them.
• Red LED wands, batons and lightsabers: banned in red; other LED gear is welcome.
• Laser pointer gloves: laser pointers are banned.
• Glass water bottles: glass is banned venue wide, and bottles must arrive empty anyway.
• Snack and candy "festival fuel" packs: outside food and candy are prohibited.

Before the festival
