Vegas pools in winter: which Las Vegas pools are open and heated

By the ThingsVegas Editorial Team | Published November 3, 2026 | Last reviewed: November 3, 2026

Yes, you can swim in Las Vegas in winter. Most pool decks close from November to March, but a short list stays open and heated: Circa's Stadium Swim runs 365 days a year with its pools heated to between 94 and 104 degrees, and about ten other resorts keep at least one heated pool open through December, January and February.

The catch is the air, not the water. Las Vegas averages a daytime high of about 60 degrees in December and 59 degrees in January, with overnight lows in the high 20s, per Circa's own winter guide to the city. That is exactly why the resorts that stay open heat their water hard and cut their hours: nearly every winter pool in this guide runs a short day, typically 9 AM to 5 PM, and the swim itself is a midday activity. Pick a hotel from the table and winter swimming is genuinely pleasant. Book anywhere else and you will likely find a locked gate and a drained deck.

Which Las Vegas pools are open in winter? The hotel-by-hotel table

Every status below was checked against the hotel's own site or the resort group's published information on November 3, 2026. Hours are the winter pattern each resort currently lists; individual pools rotate out for maintenance in the off-season, so confirm the day before you swim.

How warm is the water, really?

Stadium Swim is in a class of its own. Circa puts it plainly on its winter guide: "While many Las Vegas pools in winter are closed, Stadium Swim stays open 365 days a year with its heated pools," and the resort heats all six pools to between 94 and 104 degrees in the winter months. That is hot tub range, warm enough that the swim is comfortable even when the deck is cold, and the two spas on site run hotter still. It is also the only winter pool in Las Vegas that feels like an event rather than a compromise: the 143-foot screen shows games all day, and the whole venue is 21 and over.

Everywhere else, "heated" usually means the low 80s. Tahiti Village says its main pool is heated to over 80 degrees in winter, which is a fair guide to the Strip standard: warm enough to swim laps at noon, brisk when you climb out. The Plaza heats both its rooftop pool and its hot tub year-round, per the hotel's own amenities page, and Bellagio heats its courtyard pools without publishing a number. If the exact temperature decides your booking, Circa is the only resort in town that publishes one.

Which pools shrink to a single pool in winter?

Most of the table. Caesars Palace is the clearest case: the Garden of the Gods has seven pools, and Caesars' own FAQ says the season typically runs March to October with only the Venus Pool open year-round. The other six close at the end of October, and what remains is the adults-only Venus Pool plus the hot tubs, on a 9 AM to 5 PM day. Aria runs the same play with its three ellipse pools, consolidating to one pool off-season, and Wynn closes its main resort pool and the entire Encore pool for the season, keeping the Tower Suites Pool and the European Pool open from 10 AM to 4 PM, per Wynn's pools page.

Mandalay Bay's winter shape surprises people most. The famous Beach, 11 acres with a wave pool and 2,700 tons of real sand, closes for the winter, and one heated lagoon pool carries the resort instead. The genuinely new option next door is Tailgate Beach Club, which opened in the old Daylight space in May 2026: three heated pools built around a giant screen, open year-round per its official page, with hours that follow the sports calendar rather than the sun.

What closes for winter?

The dayclubs, almost without exception. Palm Tree Beach Club at MGM Grand, the dayclub that replaced Wet Republic in May 2025, currently posts "See you in March 2027" on its official MGM page, with every day of the week listed as closed. Encore Beach Club ends its season in late October. Aria's LIQUID Pool Lounge is listed as "Closed for the Winter" on Aria's own site. Our Las Vegas pool parties and dayclubs guide tracks each venue's season and reopening dates; treat anything in it as a March-to-October plan, not a winter one.

Two exceptions keep a winter pulse. Marquee Dayclub at the Cosmopolitan puts a heated dome over the pool and runs Thursday to Sunday, 11 AM to 6 PM, through the colder months, per operator Tao Group. And Tailgate Beach Club at Mandalay Bay is a sports club first and a pool second, which is why it never closes. Everything else with a DJ booth waits for March.

Are hot tubs the real winter play?

Often, yes. A heated pool at noon is a pleasure; a hot tub at 5 PM, when the winter sun drops and the air heads for the 30s, is the best seat in the resort. Bellagio keeps its four whirlpools on the same 9 AM to 5 PM winter schedule as its pools. Caesars keeps its Garden of the Gods hot tubs open alongside the Venus Pool all winter. The Plaza heats its rooftop hot tub year-round, Circa runs two spas beside the Stadium Swim pools, and Tahiti Village's hot tubs stay open with its pools even while the lazy river is shut. If your hotel is on the table above, plan the day as a midday swim and a late-afternoon soak, and the cold stops mattering.

The Venetian makes the broader point on its own site: "No matter the time of year, it's always swimming season." With both the Venetian and Palazzo decks open all winter and select pools heated in the cooler months, it is the Strip resort that changes least between July and January.

How do you plan a winter pool day?

  • Swim between 11 AM and 3 PM. That is the warm window. Winter hours are short anyway, and the deck empties fast once the sun drops behind the towers.
  • Bring a robe or a real cover-up. The walk back through an air-conditioned casino in January is the coldest part of the whole plan.
  • Check the hotel's pool page the day before. Winter is maintenance season; individual pools rotate out with little notice, and resorts post changes there first.
  • Book the hotel for the pool. Most winter pools are guests only. If swimming matters, stay at a table hotel rather than hoping for day access.
  • Pair it with the rest of a winter trip. December brings the Conservatory's holiday display, the ice rinks and the lights; our Christmas in Las Vegas guide covers what else is on while the pools run short days.

Check winter rates at the open-pool hotels

Winter room rates are the lowest of the year at most Strip resorts. These four hotels all keep heated water open from December to February:

Circa Resort and Casino on Expedia (Stadium Swim, open 365 days)

Caesars Palace on Expedia (Venus Pool and hot tubs)

Mandalay Bay on Expedia (heated lagoon pool, Tailgate Beach Club)

The Cosmopolitan on Expedia (Chelsea Pool, Marquee Dayclub dome)

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you swim in Las Vegas in winter?

Yes. A short list of resorts keeps at least one heated pool open all winter, led by Circa's Stadium Swim, which is open 365 days a year with all six pools heated to between 94 and 104 degrees, per Circa. Bellagio, the Venetian and Palazzo decks, Caesars Palace's Venus Pool, Aria, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, the Cosmopolitan's Chelsea Pool, two Wynn pools, the Plaza rooftop and Tahiti Village also keep water open December through February.

What is the warmest pool in Las Vegas in winter?

Stadium Swim at Circa, downtown. Circa says all six of its pools are heated to between 94 and 104 degrees in winter, which is hot tub territory and far warmer than any other winter pool in town. It is 21 and over only.

Are Las Vegas pools open in December and January?

Some are. Most Las Vegas pool decks close in late October or November and reopen in March, but the resorts in this guide's table keep at least one pool open through December and January, usually on reduced hours such as 9 AM to 5 PM. Always check your hotel's pool page the week of your trip, because individual pools rotate out for maintenance in winter.

Are the big Las Vegas dayclubs open in winter?

Almost all are closed. Palm Tree Beach Club at MGM Grand, which replaced Wet Republic in 2025, posts "See you in March 2027" on its official page, and Encore Beach Club ends its season in late October. The exception is Marquee Dayclub at the Cosmopolitan, which runs under a heated dome on winter weekends, and Tailgate Beach Club at Mandalay Bay, a sports viewing club with three heated pools that stays open year-round.

Do you have to be a hotel guest to use a Las Vegas pool in winter?

Usually, yes. Most resorts restrict their winter pools to registered guests, and the Venetian and the Plaza say so outright. The big exception is Stadium Swim at Circa, which sells day admission to non-guests aged 21 and over, so it works even if your own hotel's pool is closed.
