Las Vegas Summer 2026: What’s Open, What Changed, and What to Know Before You Go

What's new, what's closed, and what to expect in Las Vegas this summer. Updated June 2026 — shows, pools, new hotels, heat tips, and everything that changed since your last visit.

The tournament at a glance

The 2026 FIFA World Cup runs from June 11 to July 19, spanning 48 teams, 104 matches, and 16 stadiums across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Las Vegas is not one of the host cities — Allegiant Stadium was passed over in 2017, partly over field tray logistics and partly because city leaders decided summer was already peak tourism and the tradeoffs weren’t worth it.

That decision turned out fine for visitors. Las Vegas may not have matches on the schedule, but it has the best sportsbooks on earth, some of the largest sports viewing screens in the country, and a city that has spent decades turning watch parties into events. For millions of people flying in during the tournament, Vegas is the ideal base.

The 2026 World Cup is the largest in the event’s history. The expanded format moves from 32 to 48 teams across 12 groups — Groups A through L — with a brand-new Round of 32 that didn’t exist at any previous World Cup.

Key dates: June 11 — Tournament opens with Mexico vs. South Africa at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. June 11–27 — Group stage. June 28–July 2 — Round of 32. July 3–6 — Round of 16. July 9–11 — Quarterfinals. July 14–15 — Semifinals. July 19 — Final at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The United States plays its opening match June 12 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. USA group stage dates: June 12, June 19, and June 25. The USA, if it advances through the bracket, hosts every match from the quarterfinals onward. The Final on July 19 is the first in World Cup history to feature a halftime show.

Where to watch in Las Vegas

Circa Resort — Stadium Swim: The standout option downtown. Stadium Swim is a rooftop pool complex with six pools arranged in a stadium-style layout facing a 143-foot video wall. It’s designed for exactly this kind of event. Circa has confirmed programming around key USA matches (June 12, 19, and 25) and Mexico matches (June 11, 18, and 24) both inside the world’s largest sportsbook and out at Stadium Swim. For high-stakes knockout stage matches, this will be the loudest venue in the city.

Fontainebleau Las Vegas — Oasis Pool: The Strip’s most significant poolside viewing option. The USA vs. Australia match on June 19 at noon will broadcast on the main screen at Oasis Pool with full pool amenity access — daybeds, cabanas, bars. Fontainebleau has the space and the screen size to make outdoor viewing work.

Beer Park at Paris Las Vegas: A rooftop sports bar with direct views of the Bellagio Fountains. Beer Park runs more than 100 beers including 36 on draft, and for the tournament is offering advance reservations with a $50 per person food and beverage minimum for guaranteed seating. Match-day specials include a 100-ounce beer tower and a shrimp cocktail served in a soccer ball cup. Reservations are recommended for knockout stage matches.

Topgolf Las Vegas: Free game-day watch party for the USA’s June 12 opening match — first come, first served. Soccer-themed activations run throughout the tournament including a ShotShuffle soccer edition, soccer-inspired targets, and limited-time menu items.

Cabo Wabo Cantina — Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood: Viewing parties running June 11 through July 19 with a shareable game-day platter and multiple screens. A reasonable option if you’re already on the center Strip and want to watch without traveling to Circa or Fontainebleau.

The sportsbooks: Every major Las Vegas sportsbook will be running the full tournament. Caesars Palace, MGM Grand, BetMGM at Mandalay Bay, Westgate SuperBook (which has one of the largest screens of any sportsbook in the country), and Circa downtown all provide live betting alongside the broadcast. Watching the USA match with live odds updating on the same wall is a distinctly Las Vegas experience.

Following the USA

The US Men’s National Team enters the tournament with a favorable group draw and home-continent advantage. Their schedule: June 12 — USA vs. host TBD, SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles. June 19 — USA vs. Australia, Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara. June 25 — USA vs. Group D opponent, SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles.

If the USMNT advances through the knockout rounds, they will play on American soil through the semifinals and potentially the Final. The quarterfinals and beyond are hosted by USA venues, which means the further the Americans go, the more the national energy builds.

The Las Vegas angle: betting

Vegas is the only major market in North America where you can walk into a casino, sit down with a beer, watch a live match, and bet on it in real time — all without a phone. The in-person sportsbook experience during a major tournament is one of the things Vegas does that nowhere else does.

Shop lines before betting. Different sportsbooks offer different lines. Caesars, BetMGM, and Westgate are the three largest in-person books in the city. The differences between them on any given match can be meaningful on prop bets.

Futures (betting on the overall tournament winner) are best placed early. Early-round exits pay at higher odds, and the market adjusts dramatically after group stage upsets. If you want to bet on a champion, early in the group stage is when the odds are most favorable.

Parlay betting across multiple matches on the same day is popular during group stage weeks when there are three or four matches playing simultaneously. The risk is proportionate, but a four-match parlay on group stage chalk can return significant multiples.

Atmosphere and logistics

The World Cup runs during peak Las Vegas summer. Match kickoff times are set in Eastern Time, which means: Noon ET = 9 a.m. PT (Las Vegas time). 3 p.m. ET = noon PT. 6 p.m. ET = 3 p.m. PT. 9 p.m. ET = 6 p.m. PT.

Early-morning matches are unusual — most group stage games tip between 3 and 6 p.m. Las Vegas time. That aligns well with afternoon sportsbook crowds, post-lunch pool sessions, and pre-dinner bar atmospheres.

The heat in June and July is a factor for any outdoor viewing. Temperatures in Las Vegas regularly exceed 110°F in the afternoon. Beer Park and Topgolf are outdoors. Stadium Swim has pools, which help, but sun exposure is real. If you’re watching outdoor in the afternoon, factor in shade access, hydration, and sunscreen the same way you would for a pool party.

Fan travel: using Las Vegas as a base

A number of people attending actual World Cup matches in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Las Vegas-adjacent cities will use Las Vegas as their trip anchor — flying into Harry Reid International, staying a few days, then driving or flying to a match.

Los Angeles (SoFi Stadium, Levi’s Stadium): approximately 4–5 hours by car or 1 hour by plane. LA hosts 8 matches including the USMNT opening match. San Francisco / Santa Clara (Levi’s Stadium): about 7–8 hours by car, or fly. Levi’s hosts June 19 USA vs. Australia among other fixtures.

If this is your plan, book hotels in Las Vegas early. The tournament overlaps with several Las Vegas events — the Sphere’s summer residencies, the July 4th fireworks run, and general summer convention traffic — and room availability will tighten around high-profile match weekends.

What to watch for in the tournament

The expanded format changes everything. With 48 teams and a Round of 32, significantly more upsets are possible in the early knockout stage than at previous World Cups. Groups are smaller (four teams each), and the margin between advancing and going home is tighter.

The host nation factor. The USA, Canada, and Mexico each play their group stage matches on home soil, and each brings partisan crowds to enormous venues. USA match atmospheres at SoFi Stadium and Levi’s are expected to be among the most intense in American soccer history.

The Final halftime show. First ever in World Cup history. The July 19 Final at MetLife Stadium will feature a live halftime performance, produced by Global Citizen. A Las Vegas watch party for the Final, wherever you find one, will be worth planning around.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup runs June 11 to July 19. All USA group stage matches kick off at 9 p.m. Las Vegas time (noon ET on June 12), 3 p.m. Las Vegas time (6 p.m. ET on June 19), and 9 p.m. Las Vegas time (June 25). Schedules are subject to change. Verify directly with venues for watch party details and reservations.
