ThingsVegas publishes guides, reviews, and insider tips about Las Vegas written by people with real local knowledge. We are not looking for generic travel content that could apply to any city - we want specific, honest, experience-based writing about Las Vegas. If you have spent real time in Las Vegas and have something genuinely useful to say, we want to hear from you.

What we publish

We publish show reviews, restaurant reviews, hotel reviews, neighborhood guides, and practical planning advice. All content must be based on direct experience - we do not publish content written from secondary sources or AI-generated text. If you have not been to the show, eaten at the restaurant, or stayed at the hotel, we cannot use your review.

The content we value most is specific and opinionated. Not "Cirque du Soleil is a great show" but "here is why O is worth $115 and KA is worth $69 but Mystere is overpriced at current rates." Not "there are many good restaurants in Las Vegas" but "here is the specific table at Joël Robuchon you should request and why the tasting menu is worth the price."

What makes a good ThingsVegas article

The best articles on this site answer a specific question that a real person planning a Las Vegas trip would ask. They give a direct answer, then explain the reasoning. They acknowledge tradeoffs and limitations. They tell readers what to skip, not just what to see. They include specific prices, specific times, specific recommendations that would be impossible to write without having been there.

We are particularly interested in content about: neighborhoods and areas most visitors never see, off-Strip dining and entertainment, budget strategies that actually work, specific situations (traveling with kids, solo travel, visiting for a conference), and honest assessments of overrated attractions and restaurants.

What we do not publish

We do not publish sponsored content, press releases, or articles that promote a specific business without disclosure. We do not publish generic "Top 10 Things to Do in Las Vegas" listicles that do not add anything new. We do not publish content that is primarily designed to generate affiliate commissions rather than help readers.

We also do not publish content that is primarily negative without being constructive, content that makes claims we cannot verify, or content that contradicts information we have independently confirmed. If you have a different experience than our existing coverage, that is worth discussing - but we need to understand why the experiences differ before publishing a contradictory account.

Our editorial standards

All submitted content goes through an editorial review. We check factual claims, verify prices and hours, and edit for clarity and style. We may ask for revisions before publishing. We do not publish content that contains factual errors, unverified claims, or promotional language that reads like advertising rather than editorial content.

We do not pay for contributed content at this time. Contributors receive a byline and a brief author bio. If the site generates significant revenue in the future, we will revisit contributor compensation.

How to pitch

Send a brief pitch (2-3 sentences describing what you want to write and why you are qualified to write it) to info@thingsvegas.com. Include any relevant experience - years living in Las Vegas, shows you have attended, restaurants you have reviewed elsewhere. We respond to all pitches within 5 business days.

If you want to submit a completed draft rather than a pitch, that is also fine. Send it as a Google Doc or plain text attachment. We will review it and respond within 5 business days.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to live in Las Vegas to write for ThingsVegas?

No, but you need to have spent meaningful time there. A single 3-day trip is probably not enough experience to write a comprehensive guide, but it might be enough for a specific review or a first-timer's perspective piece. What matters is that your content is based on direct experience, not research from other websites.

Will you edit my submission?

Yes. All submissions go through editorial review and may be edited for clarity, accuracy, style, and length. We will share significant edits with you before publishing. Minor edits (grammar, formatting, style consistency) may be made without prior approval.

Can I include links to my own website or social media?

A link to your own website or relevant social media profile in your author bio is fine. We do not allow links within article content to your own properties unless they are genuinely relevant and useful to the reader. We do not allow affiliate links in contributed content.

What happens after we publish

We promote published articles through our social channels and internal linking. We will notify you when your article goes live and share the URL. We retain the right to update articles as information changes - if a restaurant closes or a show changes its pricing, we will update the article and note the change. If significant updates are needed, we may reach out to you for input, but we reserve the right to update content without prior approval to keep the site accurate.
