Our Disclosure Policy
ThingsVegas is committed to full transparency with our readers. When content is sponsored, paid for, or created in partnership with a brand, we always disclose this clearly and prominently.
We comply with the FTC's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials, as well as Google's guidelines on sponsored content and link attributes.
How We Label Sponsored Content
Sponsored Articles
Articles written in collaboration with or paid for by a brand are marked with a "Sponsored" badge at the top of the article and include a disclosure statement in the first paragraph explaining the relationship.
Guest Posts
Content submitted by external contributors is labeled with the author's name and affiliation. If the contributor paid for placement, the article is additionally marked as "Sponsored."
Affiliate Links
When we link to products or services using affiliate links (where we earn a commission if you make a purchase), these are disclosed in our Affiliate Disclosure. Affiliate relationships never influence our editorial recommendations.
Link Attributes
Paid links use the rel="sponsored" attribute as recommended by Google. Organic editorial links use standard follow links.
Quality Standards for Sponsors
All sponsored content must meet the same editorial standards as our independent content:
- Must provide genuine value and useful information to readers
- Must be factually accurate and verifiable
- Must be well-written and properly formatted
- Must be relevant to our audience (Las Vegas visitors, travelers, lifestyle readers)
- Must not make misleading claims or use deceptive practices
- Must comply with all applicable advertising regulations
What We Will Not Sponsor
ThingsVegas reserves the right to decline any sponsored content that:
- Promotes online gambling, unlicensed casinos, or sports betting apps
- Contains health claims not supported by evidence
- Promotes financial products designed to exploit vulnerable consumers
- Is associated with hate groups, extremism, or discrimination
- Promotes illegal activities or substances
- Attempts to disguise advertising as independent editorial content
- Contains malware, phishing links, or deceptive redirects
Editorial Independence
Our editorial team operates independently from our advertising and business development teams. Advertisers cannot:
- Influence our independent reviews or rankings
- Request removal of negative coverage
- Dictate editorial direction or content strategy
- Access unpublished editorial content before publication
For more details on our editorial standards, see our Editorial Policy.
